PHILIPPIANS 10-13(NIV)
I REJOICE GREATLY IN THE LORD THAT AT LAST YOU HAVE RENEWED YOUR CONCERN FOR ME. INDEED, YOU HAVE BEEN CONCERNED, BUT YOU HAD NO OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW IT. I AM NOT SAYING THIS BECUASE I AM IN NEED, FOR I HAVE LEARNED TO BE CONTENT WHATEVER THE CIRCUMSTANCES. I KNOW WHAT IT IS TO BE IN NEED, AND I KNOW WHAT IT IS TO HAVE PLENTY. I HAVE LEARNED THE SECRET OF BEING CONTENT IN ANY AND EVERY SITUATION, WHETHER WELL FED OR HUNGRY, WHETHER LIVING IN PLENTY OR IN WANT. I CAN DO EVERYTHING THROUGH HIM WHO GIVES ME STRENGTH.
GIVING THANKS
November is supposed to be the month of taking time out of our everyday lives and give thanks. While I believe we should be doing this daily....I did want to title this Giving Thanks because of Thanksgiving coming up.
I was taking a walk the other day with our dog. (It was gorgeous on Monday) I was thinking about how blessed I am. God has been so gracious to my family and it is amazing how he has done it. When Chad and I were first married....We had some TOUGH financial times and we felt like we were never going to own our own home and have financial freedom. Through the grace of God and lots of hard work we eventually owned a home and have financial freedom. We are certainly NOT millionaires, but we are comfortable and life is good. We are a testimony of what can happen when you give yourselves and life's to God!
Anyhow, while walking I was thanking God for giving me my husband and two sons. Thanking him for all of us being healthy and thanking him for the abundance of goodness he has given us. I was thanking him for giving us the trees and the grass and yes even my walking companion Montana. (My Cat I am thankful for too) I also thanked him for giving us the opportunity to adopt a child. This waiting time has taught me a lot and I am sure I will be taught many more lessons while we wait. I definitely learning to have more patients.
